For return flights, Alaska has one departing Juneau at 8:30 pm on Dec. 31 — you’d land in Seattle just before New Years, with just a minute to spare.

All fares shown in these offers apply to basic economy class. Alaska’s basic economy option, known as the airline’s Saver fare, has no seat selection and does not allow passengers to change their tickets.

Passengers flying the Saver option will also have access to the overhead bin last, so if the flight is full you may not have room to store your carry-on luggage. Checking a bag for a round-trip flight will also cost an additional $60 ($30 each way).

In short

If visiting Alaska is on your bucket list, now is a great time to book your flights. Some of the travel dates fall in winter so you need to pack some warm winter clothes. Still, there are plenty of things to do – from ice skating to skiing.

Plus, winter is one of the best times to see the Northern Lights in Alaska, making a trip to the Last Frontier worthwhile.
